I have the honour to lay before you certain
propositions in connection with the terminal arrangements of the
British Section of the Kowloon-Canton Railway.
2.
The provision of a suitable terminal Station
Building is difficult owing to the fact that the site proposed
at present is on land which will have to be reclained. The
approaches are bad, the only direct one being down lody Road
which is only 50 feet wide or else sideways along Des Voeux Road
round Signal Hill.

The Building will probably be a three
storied one so as to provide offices los, for the Railway
administration above the Waiting Roons &c., which will be on the
ground floor. The foundations for such a building would be very
costly on the proposed site.
The provision of suitable access to the
water front for those who come from Hongkong by ›launch will be
difficult as the goodsheds will be situated between the Station
Building and the sea froat. To get round these sheds the distance
would be too great for any degree of comfort when raining and would
